Elaine Lustig Cohen: graphic designer, artist and archivist.

Elaine Lustig Cohen was an inspiring graphic designer recognized mostly for her 1950s and 60s book covers and museum catalogs. She played a significant role in the evolution of modernist American Graphic Design. While also working in paint, collage, and portraits her graphic design pieces sparked a new design wave that carries on today. 

This editorial design uses blurb book creator to create a 52 page magazine. Each spread was designed by Aislin Butt. The cover is printed on 80# semi-gloss (216 GSM) for heft and protection. The pages are printed on 80# matte text (118 GSM) paper and the binding is perfect bound—4 page signatures. Including Elaine's artist statement, 4 articles, and a bibliography this text will walk you through her ideals as an artist while displaying her vast work as well.
